Capabilities
How Babdah answers the question
Capabilities are methods, not products.
The question comes first; collection methods are selected afterward. The capabilities below are the means by which Babdah answers an intelligence requirement — used in whatever combination the requirement calls for.
Capability families
Open-Source Intelligence
Research and collection from publicly and lawfully accessible sources, records, archives, media, digital environments, and other relevant information.
Source Evaluation & Corroboration
Information — including information provided by clients and intermediaries — is treated as reporting to be evaluated rather than assumed to be fact. Independent collection seeks information that could corroborate, contradict, or contextualize it.
Entity & Organizational Research
Assessment of an organization, its representations, activities, associated entities, and relevant individuals.
Relationship / Network Analysis
Relationship and pattern analysis that shows how individuals, organizations, and events connect — and where apparent connections do not hold up.
Analytical Assessment
Source evaluation, corroboration, competing explanations, relationship and pattern analysis, confidence assessment, and identification of information gaps.
Public Records Research
Research in public and lawfully accessible records relevant to the intelligence requirement.
Situational / Travel Intelligence
Assessment of threats, disruptions, environment, contingencies, and opportunities relevant to a location and the client’s objectives.
Field Collection / Observation Where lawful and appropriate
Lawful observation and collection used where appropriate to supplement remotely available information.
Undertaken only where lawful, appropriate, and within the agreed scope.
Discreet-to-Lose-Foot Surveillance & Foot-Based Surveillance Detection
Babdah maintains certification in discreet-to-lose-foot surveillance and foot-based surveillance detection under the federal specifications identified by the credentialing agency for recognition of the certification.
Applicable specifications: FBI Domestic Investigations and Operations (Sections 8, 9 & 11); DIA Intelligence Handbook (CC-0000-181-95); U.S. DHS Operations (ST-5095).
Linguistic & Foreign-Language Intelligence Developing
Developing capabilities for collection and analysis across non-English information environments, including multilingual discovery, source exploitation, local-language research, and cross-language entity resolution.
Presented as a developing capability. Babdah distinguishes languages usable for discovery and triage from languages suitable for professional primary-source analysis or translation.
Limits are part of the method
Collection is conducted lawfully and within the agreed scope. Babdah will decline work that cannot be performed lawfully or responsibly.
What do you need to understand?
You do not need to know what kind of intelligence you need. Tell Babdah the decision you are facing, the situation you need to understand, and what you already know. The first step is defining the requirement.
